Terms of use
These terms govern your use of Expiry Watch on pumpoverboard.com (the “service”). Instant checks, free watchlists, email alerts, and paid subscriptions are all covered. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What this is — and is not
Expiry Watch is an informational monitoring aid. It may probe TLS certificates and domain registration dates and may email you when those dates look close. It is not a certificate authority, a registrar, a professional monitoring contract, or a guarantee that a host, certificate, or domain will be renewed. It does not replace your own calendar, registrar panel, or hosting panel.
Your risk
You use the service at your own risk. You are solely responsible for renewing certificates and domains, for any client sites you watch, and for what you do with check results and alert mail. Checks and alerts can be late, wrong, throttled, undelivered, or missing (network, DNS, mail, our systems, or the public records we read). An “OK” result is a snapshot, not a promise it will stay valid.
No warranty
The service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability. We may change, throttle, or stop features without notice. Email is best-effort.
Release
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable United States law, you release, hold harmless, defend, and indemnify the operator of this site and its contractors and affiliates from any claim, loss, cost, liability, or damage (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of this site, anything generated for you here (including check results and alert mail), expired or mis-renewed certificates or domains, client or visitor impact, your watchlist, or your subscription.
Limitation of liability
The operator of this site is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost clients, downtime, browser warnings, SEO harm, or expired TLS/domains, even if advised of the possibility. If some liability cannot be excluded, total liability for this product is limited to the fees you paid for Expiry Watch in the three months before the claim, or nine US dollars, whichever is greater.
Cookies
This site uses a session cookie so this browser can remember your plan and that you agreed to these Terms. It does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. The extra cookie-consent rules that cover those kinds of cookies do not apply here. You may still record that you are fine with the session cookie; that record is optional.
Privacy
Data we keep
We keep the email address you give us. We keep the hosts you ask us to watch. A host you stop watching stays on file. We keep the latest check result for each host and the last alert we sent for it.
Before you confirm an email, hosts you check are held against an id stored in this browser (localStorage, name ew_session), up to 3. After you ask for the confirm link, we also keep a snapshot of those hosts with that mailed link for 72 hours. If you open the link in that time, those hosts are watched. If you do not, that snapshot is not used.
Sign-ups and re-checks record the IP address and the email address in our access log for the site. Rate limits use that same log.
We send mail from support@pumpoverboard.com. We do not keep a copy of the letter in the product database.
This browser also gets an HttpOnly cookie named ew_sid from the session service, used to remember the plan and Terms agreement for this site. A separate optional cookie records that you agreed to the session cookie. The id that holds hosts you checked before sign-up is the localStorage value, not that cookie.
When you sign up, we store a short channel label such as github-com. It comes from the link you followed or the site that sent you, kept in this tab (sessionStorage) and stored with the sign-up. We do not store the full address of the page that sent you.
Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies, and we do not sell this data. To stop all mail, email support@pumpoverboard.com from the address you signed up with.
Paid plans
Expiry Watch Pro costs $9 USD a month. It is charged when you subscribe and again each month on that date until you cancel. To cancel, use Manage or cancel on pumpoverboard.com or email support@pumpoverboard.com from the address you subscribed with. Cancelling stops future charges, and Pro stays on until the end of the month already paid. We refund the unused portion of a subscription on request. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. A paid plan only raises how many hosts you may watch (25 instead of 3). It does not add a warranty, SLA, or duty to keep a certificate valid. Subscribing requires that you check the box confirming these terms. Checking that box is your electronic signature that you understand and agree.
Acceptance
Using the service (checking a host, watching hosts, reading mail from us, or subscribing) is acceptance of these terms. United States law governs, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If a court strikes one part, the rest still applies.
